Introduction
M.F.W was launched on September 11th 1999 and it is a Coventry based Organisation.
The reason being that there were so many unwanted, injured, abused and abandoned ferrets finding their way to Arthur and
Rose Morris at Coventry Petsearch.
Up until that time over 100 adults and kits had been taken in and re-homed since the previous December 1998.
Arthur,Rose,new and experienced owners got together and decided to start a new organisation for the sole purpose of ferret
welfare.
It was also decided that membership would be offered to anyone who would like to join with the view of helping to raise funds
to help as many ferrets as possible.
Fund raising events are taking place all the time in the shape of shows and PR events around the country throughout the year.
The policy of M.F.W is never to turn away abandoned,injured or unwanted ferrets.When they are taken into the Rescue Centre
they are neutered/spayed because if we do not neuter/spay in a very short space of time we will be called out to pick up unwanted kits.As we have so many each year it quickly exhausts any funds we may have.So any donation to the Society is gratefully received and always put to good use.

As you can see from our chart far to many ferrets are coming into rescue centres like ours. PLEASE be very sure you can care for ferrets
before you take them on as pets.They are living,feeling creatures not toys. Remember they can live to the age of 14 years .7-10 YEARS IS THE NORM.
Between 1986-1998 - Over 1000 ferrets were rescued by MFW..
1999 - 204 - 2000 - 252 - 2001 - 256 - 2002- 214 - 2003 - 242 - 2004 - 205 - 2005 - 248 - 2006 - 262
80% of these ferrets were spayed or neutered by us the rest by their responsible owners. Due to old age, deformities and long term
illnesses 19 will stay at the centre for the rest of their lives. |

PLEASE NOTE THAT ADOPTIONS WILL STOP ON DECEMBER 16th TILL JANUARY 2ND 2007.
We will however be open for the intake of stray and unwanted ferrets all over Christmas.
